New brochure: shared space and safety

A new brochure brought out by the UDV (German Insurers Accident Research) indicates what factors should be taken into account when implementing shared space schemes on roads in order to ensure road safety for all road users. The brochure was produced jointly with the Swiss Council for Accident Prevention (bfu) and the Austrian Road Safety Board (KFV). The aim was also to provide a common definition of shared space for Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The brochure, which is aimed at local and regional decision-makers and authorities, is meant to ensure that shared space is implemented successfully and safely.
